SOSA Gliding Club
New and Prospective Member Orientation and Facility Tour

1:00pm, Sunday, 5 May 2024, beside the Clubhouse

New and prospective members will be introduced to the club and facilities with tours and discussions. Discussion topics will include: Signing up as a member, how members are billed, club structure and organization, how members communicate, duty roster and volunteering, logging flights, parachutes, and the importance of sunscreen. Your leashed dogs, parents, partners, and interested friends are all welcome to come learn about us.

Rob Russell has been a flight instructor with SOSA Gliding Club since 2013 and is a former board member. Rob has been flying gliders since 2002 and has been a member at two other Canadian soaring clubs before joining SOSA in 2006. We told Rob that he had “people skills” to trick him in to leading this session. Rob will be joined by our Dean of Students, Ian Newby-Clark.

Unless it’s raining, the session will be outdoors, and we are currently expecting temperatures to be approximately 19°C. Dress for the weather, bring your own drinking water, sunglasses.
