ndigenous organisations demand reformulation of protected areas #Peru #Indigene
In San Martín region, a coalition of indigenous organisations has initiated legal actions to demand that ancestral indigenous territories that fall within the region’s Natural Protected Areas (NPAs) be titled to the respective communities. When the NPAs were created, community lands ended up by being managed by SERNANP in some cases and by regional governments.
