What he doesn't say is that creating division is probably deliberate strategy to sow the ground for Christofascism, as well as a means of disguising other forms of discrimination.
On a level playing field, conservatives are in trouble when the young grow up (though there's a sizeable fascist minority), and religion has generally not been as big a factor in UK conservatism.
So the performative (typically bad faith) belief of the parents to get their kids into the "right" schools may result in the next generation being more religious. Which is good for the right, as we see in the US.
Coercion has been a big part of Christianity's history.
