"US presidents should not be immune when they murder people" is something I agree with, I'd just prefer if US presidents had never actually ordered assassinations and gotten away with it.
Because if we're honest, the argument is more like "The US president should be immune when ordering the murder of people we think are terrorists (no, they won't get a trial), but we draw the line at the murder of political rivals".
