Whenever I read news about scientific papers being “churned out” at some ridiculous rate by institutions of questionable ethics and accepted into peer reviewed journals I can't but think about my experience that is completely opposite: years to get to a result that is worth publishing, and then years again of back-and-forth with reviewers (some good, some less so) until it finally gets published (if it goes well) and think: am I doing it wrong?
