I wrote a letter to Donald #Knuth. Fingers crossed that he replies! #TeX #typography
A handwritten note an a half-sheet of paper: Professor Knuth, Sorry to bother you, but this question has been bothering me for 6 years since my undergrad and I am unsure how else to find the answer: In you 1965 paper "On the Translation of Languages from Left to Right" you use a symbol "[a sideways T]" (In my copy of the paper, it is introduced on the 4th page, makes as page 610). What is this symbol called, and how do I type it in TeX? Thanks, and happy hacking, [signature] Luke T. Shumaker
An sealed and stamped envelope with the return address obscured (not that I'm under the illusion that my address is particularly private), addressed to Prof. Donald E. Knuth Computer Science Department Gates Building 1B Stanford University Stanford, CA 94305-9015 USA
