Well, no. In tightening the screws so many times, the screws going to each of the back to corners of the device (structural anchor points for the hinge) slowly opened the holes in the aluminum bottom case such that they slipped right through. The pressure also destroyed the little plastic pieces that are meant to be a cushion between the two pieces.
Aaaand, the bottom piece/plate is currently out of stock. Yay.
Oh, and I dropped one of the important screws. Argh.
