I had a pretty conservative upbringing. I have attitudes and beliefs from the past that are at times hard to recalibrate or reconcile. My parents were Reagan Republicans but get this: they were *not* religious/evangelicals/conservative Christians. My Mom was agnostic and my Dad was an athiest. It was odd. Then again, it was Oregon. They were good parents, though who never mistreated me. My Dad never hit me or used his belt on me like his crazy father did to him. Oregon is where I still live.
