I realized we have been slowly entering the post google era of search.
Google search was a massive improvement back when I first found it when it was in beta running out of Stanford. It had almost magically good results. It was fast and not ad laden like the alternatives.
Google has been eroding; in part due to user hostile decisions on the part of google, in part to it being targeted by SEO and crap marketing, now supercharged by LLMs.
I have been trying to avoid google, try alternatives.
