While compiling #linux #kernel use
yes '' | make localmodconfig
It will reduce the time for compilation and build only required modules from the running kernel.
Oh, make sure you plug in everything i.e. USB, and headphone jack while building.
The size and time get greatly reduced. Great for "machine-specific kernel" .
That means porting that kernel to other machines might cause trouble by not having a module to the ported machine.
