I live in Haarlem with two A's, the Harlem in Manhattan is named after us. Think reefer not ribs. It's about 15 KM from Amsterdam.
Pros
Great public transport, great education, great health care, museums, and public art, and a relatively OK culinary scene for a small city. Our Saturday markets are the envy of many towns.
Cons
Our current disaster of a national government trying to form, insane house prices, and the central part of the city could use more green.
