I would PREFER to do this once and do it right, but there's sorta no solution that fits that constraint. Which is why BMW put the pump where they did.
Need to get over myself and internalize that the original solution lasted 18 years and if I just replace and relocate the pump it'll be dry enough it'll probably last that long again so no point sweating it even if I'd do something slightly more involved if I could make my own hoses which I can't reasonably.
