Opinion: few of any of the arguments levied against the LAMP stack hold up any better against currently lauded web platforms. JavaScript is not a 'cleaner' language than PHP, and I see no evidence of web development and hosting resource utilisation getting cheaper, quicker, easier.
Instead you now seemingly need gigs of volatile libraries to put text on a page, rather than just a text editor.
Have rational arguments about maintainability and ease of development, but apply them consistently.
