Looking at Dutch politics today I get flashbacks to the financial sector before 2008. It feels like we are reaching something similar to a Minsky moment in our society and politics (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minsky_moment?wprov=sfti1#). Large parts of society are taking excessive risks but now in our democracy and rule of law. We vote into power dangerous extremism because we somehow are convinced the stability is inherent to our system. And politicians like bankers precrisis are too focused on te short term to care.
