"If a government decides that all mining projects now require the free, prior and informed consent of affected Indigenous groups," mining companies can sue, arguing that their right to genocide indigenous people and destroy their environment is being impinged. Mining has a proud history of imperialists, colonizers and mining oligarchs waging war, genocide, slaving, and devastating our environment. It is not fair to ask mining companies to change a very profitable model.
