In this discussion on Hacker News[1], I learned that some people don't like 2-way bindings, and consider it a boon that React doesn’t have them. I’ve managed to never use React, so I can’t really speak to that, but I use and adore Vue which has them. I consider Vue to be the spiritual heir to Knockout.js, which I also loved. But to my surprise, there seems to widespread agreement on HN that KO.js was horrible, and certain to lead to unmaintainable messes.
