In the early days used to be the magical computer you could just lock, put away and return to it with all of the same batter level left.

Today, iPad still isn't an alternative to my PC, yet it has learned to consume battery while sleeping. The less often I use it, the more obvious it becomes. The more likely I'm going to find it on by table with 20% battery left, the less I trust it to be ready when I need it. Vicious cycle.

(It's not an old device either, M1 Pro I bought 1.5y ago.)
