Do people overcome more reasoning errors when they try harder?
Contrary to some theories of #rationality, greater cognitive effort (as measured by pupil dilation) predicted being “more [not less] prone to accept false teleological explanations” like “Trees produce oxygen so that animals can breathe" among 39 people who rated the veracity of 34 false explanations.
