Ever had to unfollow someone who you usually get on well with, after they suddenly start spouting bigoted crap? I have and it’s always a miserable feeling. I say “suddenly”, but truth be told, I had noticed the odd weird remark here and there and just didn’t want to believe it meant what it meant until they dropped all pretence of plausible deniability. It’s like watching a friend become a junkie, they get hooked on hate & self pity & conspiracies to back up their demented paranoid fantasies.
