"Stumbled upon this by accident today. Was utterly blown away to discover that Norman Rockwell, the King of Kitsch, was capable of creating a work this powerful and politically engaged. The painting, titled "Southern Justice (Murder in Mississippi)," depicts the 1965 murder of the three civil rights workers Chaney, Goodman, and Schwerner. The men are facing shadows with weapons but are themselves unarmed.
