Watching as Ukraine's men now refuse to be conscripted. Russia has long since faced a similar predicament.
The last thing any army needs is conscripts in the ranks. They won't fight. They'll desert given half a chance.
It's time for NATO to face facts here: they can throw money and equipment and ammunition and intel at the Ukrainian military, but what this situation needs is warm blood and Ukraine can't motivate men with harum scarum anymore.
