I got "the zoomies" while swimming for the first time today. I'd been working on new ways to pace my laps to increase my VO2 Max, and I found myself bursting through laps with brief rests between them. It reminded me of when I lived in the mountains in my youth and would sprint through the forest with a radio song playing in my mind, how the world would disappear and momentarily, it was just me and the sensation of speed and strength, not a lick of laboured breathing or exhaustion.
