I don't have evidence to back this up, but I'd wager a full-time digital librarian would be worth their weight in gold for the average engineering org.
Of course, that's assuming the average engineering org is conscientious about writing things down. I don't know how common that is. Every team I've been on has done it, but my experience may be atypical. There's a path of least resistance here and it's not pretty.
