Incidentally, the only use case (outside of trained users in very specific contexts) I have seen for placeholder text is the already-confusing sentence form:

Otherwise users tend to treat fields with placeholder as pre-filled and often miss or skip them. Definitely don’t use placeholder in place of a persistent visible label. That makes all users frowny.
