I haven't finished the series yet, but here's what I love about the writing of this Xianxia/romance drama so far:
- When Shen Li (the phoenix) tells Xingzhi (the ancient god) that she regrets that they have met because else they and the world wouldn't be in that bad situation, he answers not in a grandiose way, but says very simply: "I have lived for 10000 years, and the one thing I do not regret is meeting you." There's an author who understands writing emotions!
- Also, the reluctant villain/rival Mofang is written so well. He really grows to respect Shen Li and he *always* does. More so than the hero Xingzhi. He's a perfect example for that hardest of things to write, the likeable villain! (Even if one sometimes wants to push him a bit to try harder o.O)
